Round up from New Year competitions

Vi Mar Trophy there was a good turn out for the Vi Mar trophy, with 16 couples entered. In 1st place with a tremendous score of 47 points and 3 points clear of the field were Hilary Pryor and Martin Cleverly, in 2nd place with an excellent score of 44 points were Vera Eade and Connor Eade and in 3rd place with 41 points were Kath Allen and Paul Anning and in 4th place with 39 points were Pwint Lwin and AT.  The weather was kind to us and although the scores were excellent there were no twos, this resulted in cards being drawn to distribute the balls. 
Match v Juniors on the 2nd of January the ladies played the juniors in their annual match. The format was an accumulative BBB Stableford with 1 score to count. The ladies team pairings were Mandy W and Sarah S, Jan S and Debbie D, Karen G and Jacquie L, Vera and Abbi and Jane B with Dawn. After the 1st four matches were in, the ladies were 4 points behind the juniors with the ladies on 151 points and the juniors on 155. The final match was Jane B and Dawn E who played with Cameron Gurd hdcp 2 and his younger brother Harry (still only 9) with a hdcp 48 and playing in his first big comp for the juniors. The final tally was ladies 188 and juniors 210 (Dawn and Jane scored a good 37 points), but their opposition scored 55. The youngest player Harry actually scored all 55 points on his own, his brother never got on the card. It was a great day and lovely to play against our juniors and witness one of our rising young stars play his best golf ever. FYI harry got his hdcp cut to 26 from 48. 
January Stableford  4th January 2020, the weather once again was kind for January and there was an excellent turn out with 21 ladies playing. In first place with 38 points was Dawn Emmerson, in 2nd place on count back with 34 points was Hilary Pryor, in 3rd place losing on count back Jan Sargeant also with 34 points and in 4th place with 33pts was Angie Chapman. The CSS went out to 75.
