40 Pairs from all over the SW Counties competed in the SW Regional Final of the Australian Spoons. The winners will go forward to play against the other 5 regional finalists at Woodhall Spa Golf Club on the 15th August during the EG golf week. The prizes were presented by Vice President Jill Simmons.
In 1st place with 37 points was Sarah Ross & Pam Wevill from Launceston who are now looking forward to playing in the finals in August.
In 2nd place with 35 points was Liz Gillman and Sue Carveth.
In 3rd place with 32 points on countback was Wendy Phillips & Pam Hughes from St Mellion.
In 4th place also with 32 points on countback was Michelle Burgess & Candy Gil from Henbury.
In 5th place also with 32 points was Sarah Uzzell & Pat Whitehead from Long Sutton.
In 6th place with 31 points was Sue Walsh & Marion Hurley from Bridport and West Dorset.
7th, 8th and 9th all had 30 points . Olwen Eaton & Maureen Lawrence from Honiton, Pauline Down & Sue Short from Libbaton and Julie Knox & Helen Wilson from Bristol & Clifton.
There were 2 Two’s each receiving 30 balls. Pauline Down & Sue Short on the 15th and Jeanette Cook & June Boulton on the 17th.
Launceston Golf Club made everyone very welcome and the course was in great condition. Thanks to the spotters and the two ladies marking cards. The food was great and the bar kept busy.
